Privacy Notice

2026-10-23.13 · 2026-10-23

This notice explains what personal data Tennis Star collects, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are.

1. Who is responsible

The operators of Tennis Star are responsible for your personal data in the app. Contact us through the Contact page in the app, through Privacy requests in My account, or at support@tennis-star.com.

2. What we collect

Depending on your role and the features you use, we collect:

  • Account data: email address, password (stored in protected form by our sign-in service), full name, requested and approved role, email verification status, chosen language, and the date and number of your sign-ins.
  • Player data: ETF player number, club, category and birth year as shown in federation data, matches and results, live-scored matches with point-by-point details, saved draws, progress and doubles information.
  • Parent and guardian data: name, email address and unique parent ID, and the link between you and the player you follow, including invitations, their expiry and removals.
  • Coach data: name, email address, academy membership, your coach ID, links to players, and the choices you or a parent make about which matches a coach can see.
  • Academy data: academy name, city, contact person, academy ID, members, roster and approval status.
  • Messages: messages you send to administrators, notifications we send you (in the app bell and by phone), including a notice when a doubles partner cancels a partnership, and emails we send you.
  • Device data (only if you turn on push notifications in the app): a notification token for your phone and its type (Android or iPhone). You can turn this off in My account at any time.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, start of sessions, device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), and time, linked to your account so we can understand how the app is used.
  • Security and administration records: actions by administrators and by users on roles, links, approvals and invitations (audit log), blocks and rejections, and database backups.
  • Published tennis data: rankings, tournaments and player lists published elsewhere that the app copies and shows.
  • Settings data: your display choices in the Settings page, such as whether button hints are shown. Seen by you and administrators.
  • Alert settings and records: your alert switches (per kind and channel), and a record of which alerts were sent to you so none is sent twice. Alert emails carry a link that switches that kind of email off without signing in. Seen by you and administrators.
  • Support access and account-type requests: Administrators can open a read-only view of an account (profile, players, links, recent matches and notices) to help with a problem. Each start and stop of that view is recorded in the audit log with the administrator's name. Your requests to change your account type are stored with the decision. Seen by administrators.
  • Reports, blocks and approvals: a report you send (reason, optional note of up to 300 characters, what it is about) is stored and seen by administrators; the list of users you blocked; and parent approval requests for players under 18 with the decision. Seen by you where it is yours, and by administrators.
  • AI practice plans: your consent (date and withdrawal), the anonymous statistics of an analysed match, and the plan text returned by the AI service, stored in your account and visible to you, to a linked parent and to a linked coach. Anonymous numbers are processed by an AI service provider outside Egypt. Deleted with your account.
  • Coach reviews: the star ratings you give a coach and the date, linked to your account but never shown to the coach. Seen by administrators when a review is flagged. A coach sees their own averages and each review without a name.
  • Academy attendance: the players an academy adds (name, ETF number, group), its training slots, absence and late-arrival requests (player, session, the reason you choose, an optional note, the time sent, who decided and when), the attendance recorded for each session (attending, absent or excused) and cancelled sessions. Seen by the player, linked parents or guardians, the academy owner and admins, and by app administrators. Injury and sick leave are stored as a reason only. The groups a player belongs to (with dates) and any change to a player's sessions are also stored, and the player and linked parents are told about them. The academy confirms it is entitled to add the players it adds. Deleted with your account or when the academy removes the player.
  • Academy check-in: for a coach, each check-in or check-out time, the distance from the academy and the accuracy of the phone position at that moment (never coordinates), a code that identifies the phone, the check-in code used, any flag (for example outside the area, location unknown, new phone, forgot to check out) and the decision of the owner or an admin with the time. For a player, the time of the check-in for a session. Seen by the person whose record it is, by the academy owner and administrators, and by site administrators for support.
  • Training and hits: slots you publish or ask for, hit requests and your answers, the venue and time, whether a session was completed or missed, and your "open to hit" switch. Seen by the people in that session and by administrators. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap; your phone location is never requested.
  • Private tournaments: the tournaments you create or are invited to, your answer, the results the organiser records (winner, loser, score, date) and the private rating computed from them. Seen by the organiser and the accepted players; administrators can see them for support.
  • Technical data: a cookie for your sign-in session, a cookie or setting for your language, and a setting on your device for the player you follow (parents).

3. Where it comes from

From you; from people who link to you or invite you (for example a player who invites a parent or coach, or an academy that adds a player); from published tennis data; and automatically from your use of the app.

4. Why we use it

We use your data for the purposes below. We rely on your consent, which you give when you accept the Terms and which you can withdraw (see section 11), and on what the law allows or requires. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

  • To create and secure your account, confirm your role and run the features you use.
  • To show rankings, matches, live scores and progress to you and to the people you choose or are linked to.
  • To send service messages, invitations and, where you have not unsubscribed, announcements.
  • To understand and improve the app, using usage statistics.
  • To prevent abuse, protect players and keep the app safe, and to keep records of administrative actions.
  • To follow the law and answer lawful requests.

5. Children

Many players are under 18. For a child, the parent or legal guardian reads this notice and gives consent for the child. We use a child's data only to run the app. A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete a child's data by contacting us.

Children under 13: a player under 13 may not create an account alone. The parent or legal guardian creates and manages the account, provides their own name and email address, and agrees to this notice for the child.

6. Who can see your data

This depends on your role and your choices. The Viewing and Sharing Options explain it in detail, including parents, coaches, academies, public live links and administrators.

7. Service providers and storage abroad

We use service providers for hosting, database storage and email delivery. They process data only for us and to run the app. Their servers may be outside Egypt, so your data may be stored or processed in other countries. By accepting this notice you agree to that transfer. We choose providers that protect data and we limit what they can access.

8. Sharing with others

We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only: with the people and groups described in the Viewing and Sharing Options; with our service providers; when the law requires it or an authority lawfully asks; and to report serious misuse of the app, for example to the authorities, or to protect a person's safety.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account yourself in My account: it is locked at once and your personal data is deleted after 7 days, including matches you recorded and any academy you own. If you ask us by email instead, we delete it within 30 days. We keep nothing else about you except: records we must keep by law; audit and security logs, kept for up to 24 months; backups, which are overwritten within 90 days; statistics that do not identify you; and federation data that is published by the federation.

10. How we protect it

We limit access by role, use secure connections, record administrative actions, expire invitations after a short time, and keep backups. No system is completely secure. If a breach could harm you, we will tell you and the authority as the law requires.

11. Your rights

You can ask to see your data, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or object to some uses, and to withdraw your consent. You can delete your account yourself in My account. For other requests use Privacy requests in My account, the Contact page, or support@tennis-star.com. We answer within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first.

If you withdraw consent, we can no longer provide the app to you, and your account will be closed. You also have the right to complain to the competent data protection authority in Egypt.

12. Cookies and similar tools

We use only what the app needs: your sign-in session, your language, and the player a parent is following. We do not use advertising cookies. Usage statistics are recorded by the app itself, not by advertising companies.

13. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. We will tell you about important changes and ask you to accept them again.
